Building Your Ark in the Days of Grace by Dr. 'Tayo Brown

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying ...until the day that Noe entered the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” Matt. 24: 37-39

“Son of man, when the land sinneth against me...will cut off man and beast from it though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they should deliver but their own souls by their righteousness...they shall deliver neither son nor daughter…” Ezek 14: 13, 14, 20

Friends, these are the replica of the days of Noah but there is a day that Noah entered the ark (rapture) Noah a preacher of righteousness was telling the people about the destruction that is coming through the flood. He was building the ark with all the specifics, gopher wood, 300 cubit length, 50 cubit breadth and 30 cubits height. But the Lord said something about Noah “But Noah found grace in the sight of God” Gen 6: 8 All that Noah did was by the grace of God. Since the Lord gives grace to the humble he was humble enough to obey the Lord he came to the throne of grace and grace was poured upon him.

I speak by the spirit of God, the days we are living are the days of grace, abundant grace that man has never seen, grace upon grace and grace for grace, for where and when sin abounds grace will abound much more but many will receive God’s grace in vain (2 Cor 6: 1) while others will frustrate my grace (Gal. 2: 21). Some will utilize my grace timely and my grace will be more than enough for all they need to survive and shine in this gross darkness. As I was saying, this is the time for you to build your own specific ark as shown you by the Lord because you have found grace in the eyes of God, this grace has appeared unto all men. You can’t build for your wife or your children or your members, each man will have to build their ark of safety.

The same flood that drowned the sinner was the flood that make the ark to float. While others are cast down we shall say there is lifting. Let’s build the ark of repentance from sin, prayer, fasting, watching, and doing the word. It won’t be long when we shall be leaving here. Let’s humble ourselves to receive grace to build our individual ark. Even if Noah , Daniel and Job are here today they can only save themselves, each soul will save himself, no one can stand for another. It’s time to build in these days of grace upon grace.

Have You Substituted Brass for Gold?

“And it came to pass...that Shishak king of Egypt came… And he took away the treasures of the king’s house...and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon has made. And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields"
1 Kg 14: 25-28.

Rehoboam the son of Solomon cannot trust the Lord like David his granddad against an attack from the enemy. During his reign Judah did evil in the eyes of God, there were sodomy and all kinds of abomination hence the Lord abhor them. Like Rehoboam, have we substituted the original principle of God’s word with the fake (deceit) because of sin, it takes some one who is wise and expert to know the difference between brass and gold from the distance, Satan does even appear as an angel of light in order to deceive.

Do we have only a form of Godliness but deny the real power of Godliness which is Agape?

Parting Thoughts...

To the Church, a revival means humiliation, a bitter knowledge of unworthiness and an open humiliating confession of sin on the part of her ministers and people. It is not the easy and glorious thing that many think it to be, though we have substituted this gold for brass, just as we substituted rural missions to London missions, who imagine revival will fill the pews and reinstates the church in power and authority. It comes to scorch before it heals; it comes to condemn ministers and people for their unfaithful witness, for their selfish living, for their neglect of the cross, and call them to daily renunciation, to an evangelical poverty and to a deep and daily consecration.

That is why a revival has ever been unpopular with large numbers within the Church. Because it says nothing to them of power such as they have learned to love or of ease, or of success; it accuses them of sin, it tells them they are dead, it calls them to awake, to renounce the world and follow Christ.
